    Hi TSI,

I’ve been following the Seven Dragon Saga threads on the RPGCodex and recently watched the Matt Chat interview.

The first thing I’d like to say is, I’m really liking the direction your game is going in and am looking forward to seeing its development. However, I was fairly surprised when the news was shared that the kickstarter would be starting early-mid this month.

I’ve been following kickstarter on and off since Torment: Tides of Numenera was announced (to which I pledged to), and have noticed that for a kickstarter campaign to succeed it helps if the project is announced through various channels, and generally getting a little ‘hype train’ going. I’m sure you’re aware of this, but I’m a little concerned as I haven’t seen more publicity surfacing and wish for a very successful kickstarter for TSI.

Obviously there are many details to your project that I know nothing about (quantity and quality of presentation and funding goal are the big ones that come to my mind for the kickstarter), but I thought I’d ask, would it not be wiser to spread the word more before starting the kickstarter?

I hadn’t heard anything about a kickstarter for Seven Dragon Saga and I can’t see any official news about it. If it is going to KS this month then things must be going pretty well at TSR, news that would make me very happy. Just means that I’ll be forgoing some stuff to pitch in if this is coming up because I’m on an extremely limited income right now and with the wife and child both having birthdays this month as well as the expac for WoW coming up quick I’m tapped out.

But I agree, spreading the word would be a good thing. Maybe spreading the word about the game to some of the video bloggers and known gamers out there and see i they could spread the word too.

Anxiously awaiting any news and tidbits that emerge for both the game and TSR.

We greatly appreciate the encouragement and your feedback.

Part of why you HAVEN’T seen TSI pushing for more awareness is that we’re going into the holiday season which is the busiest time of year for games and we wanted to let Wasteland 2 have it’s time to shine. Having a game with turn based combat get positive reviews and mainstream press hopefully bodes very well for our plans to create a compelling experience with Seven Dragon Saga.

The team has been completely head’s down working away so that we’d have concrete details to share in the near future. Although, we just did a set of interview questions with the guys at RPGCodex so expect that to go live soon. Before long, we will be trying to get the word out there and are counting on all of you- even if you can’t make a pledge, to do your best to help raise awareness and get people excited.

You’ll have to take the window either at the end of the month if you don’t want to lose visibility because of the Dragon’s Age 3 release, or early next year before Pillars of Eternity’s.

There’s also Torment that will be released next year, so you’ll have to be very convincing with this game to make it emerge.
But I’m confident in your success if you stick to making a spiritual successor of the mythical Pool of Radiance.
