The screenshots on the back of the cover art of the original release of Pool of Radiance show a few screenshots for the IBM PC which look completely different, compared to the final game.
Check these images to see what I mean:

Looking at the images you have shown. Looks to me like all images where taken from the c64 and not the PC.
CGA was simply not that good.
